In 2020, Vietnam's mango exports to the US significantly increased, reaching 2,100 tons with a value of $4.61 million, a 66% increase in volume and 70.1% increase in value from the previous year. The average price of Vietnamese mangoes in the US was nearly double that of other countries, with the majority of exports being frozen mangoes. This growth is recommended to be sustained by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The exports were initiated in 2019 after over 10 years of negotiation, with the province of Dong Thap, known for its large mango cultivation, playing a major role.
