The garden strawberry remains No. 1 in the Ukrainian berry market in terms of production and consumption

With the beginning of a full-scale war, berry growing in Ukraine completely recovered its position thanks to new regions and new grant programs. In an interview for SEEDS, the president of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA) Taras Bashtannyk told which berries remain unchangingly popular and which will not have a good price during the current year. So, when asked where exactly berry growing moved with the beginning of the war, the expert noted that if watermelons are added to berries, then this berry spread throughout Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Volyn, and Zhytomyr regions. Watermelons are now growing everywhere. If we talk about all berries, then these are primarily the western regions of Ukraine: Volyn region, Rivne region, Zhytomyr region, Ternopil region, Lviv region, Vinnytsia region.
