Berry cultivation in Ukraine is recovering due to new regions and grant programs, with watermelons now being grown nationwide. The most promising development is the cultivation of garden strawberries in tunnels, despite the high costs. The berry sector, especially blueberries, offers a margin ten times higher than grain cultivation, but requires significant capital and time. Amidst the war, some cooperatives have shifted from berries to vegetables to support food supply. Meanwhile, Ukraine is set to build its first greenhouse complex using geothermal heat, with the memorandum signed by Lviv OVA and Triosan Holding Ukraine. Polunytsia sadova continues to lead the Ukrainian berry market.
