The grain harvest in Tunisia this year has increased to 1.98 million tons from 1.15 million tons last year, surpassing the average for the last 10 years, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of the North African country, cited by international news agencies. The harvest of durum wheat reached 1.24 million tons, of soft wheat 78 thousand tons, and of barley 637 thousand tons, the department specified. The Tunisian government continues to purchase grain from farmers for the state fund. The price for durum wheat has been set at 1,400 dinars ($486.54) per ton, and for barley at 900 dinars ($308.50) per ton.
