The harvest of seedless pomegranates with geographical indication in Antalya has begun

The harvest season for the seedless pomegranate, a geographical indication specific to Gazipaşa district of Antalya, has begun. Produced in an area of approximately one thousand decares and reaching an annual harvest of 2,500 tons, the pomegranate is finding buyers this year for between 50 and 60 TL per ton based on quality. Gazipaşa District Governor Selami Korkutata, along with District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Ramazan Bat, participated in the pomegranate harvest at the orchard of producer Kerim Avcı in Yeşilyurt neighborhood. Meeting with the producers, Governor Korkutata expressed his hope for a bountiful season.
