The harvest of white strawberries begins in Japan

Fruit farms in south-western Japan, specifically in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, have commenced the harvesting of white strawberries. These unique fruits are known for their mild sweetness and aromatic taste, and can cost over 700 yen or about $5 each. The favorable weather conditions have contributed to the optimal ripening of the fruits. The white strawberries are sold at local markets and department stores in the Tokyo region, and some are also exported to Hong Kong.
