The Ministry of Agriculture in Kazakhstan is encouraging regions to establish a hay reserve fund as part of a larger strategy to boost feed production and develop the livestock industry. The country aims to produce significant amounts of hay, haylage, straw, and concentrated feed this year. The ministry has supported this initiative by allocating funds for feed subsidies, purchase of equipment, and preferential diesel fuel for feed procurement. Regions have also increased the sown area for forage crops, now covering over 16% of arable land. The ministry has instructed regional akimats to ensure the implementation of the Roadmap for feed production and to establish a hay reserve fund.
