The Moroccan Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables has requested the Minister of Agriculture to send committees to the Souss region to assess the damage caused by an extreme heat wave, which reached temperatures of 50 degrees in the Agadir-Inezgane station. The association highlighted that the agricultural estates in the region, known for their high agricultural productivity, require exceptional support to recover from the losses incurred due to the unprecedented rise in temperature. The damage mainly affected crops such as tomatoes, peppers, red fruits, banana trees, citrus fruits, figs, and olives, and is expected to have a negative impact on both domestic and foreign markets.
