The keys to the recovery of the fishing sector in Argentina

Referents of the sector highlighted that among the variables that allowed to recover dynamism are the good landing of squid, export levels and the international price of shrimp, as well as measures aimed at the valorization of land work launched by the Government. With about 14,200 registered workers, the fishing sector is one of the productive branches that managed to recover after the fall in activity and formal employment due to the pandemic. According to industry references, the improvement in the level of employment was driven by sectors related to squid and shrimp fishing, and its impact on land work, to which were added sectorial measures established at the national level.
