[Reporter Hong Lan, Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] As climate disasters intensify, the importance of wildfire response is growing, and Korea's wildfire management system is attracting international attention. The Korea Forest Service attended the 31st Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC-31) held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from the 4th to the 7th, and proposed strengthening cooperation in wildfire response in the Asia-Pacific region. Notably, on the 5th, an event was held to share the achievements of the 'Integrated Forest Risk Management Mechanism (AFFIRM)' which is being jointly promoted by the Korea Forest Service and the FAO. AFFIRM is planned to prevent and respond to increasing forest disasters due to climate change, from planning to prevention.
