The Korea Maritime and Ocean University recently announced that it has entered into a student internship cooperation agreement with Pukyong National University. Until now, Pukyong National University lacked a training ship facility to experience one of the high-income vessels, the oceanic tuna longline fishing boat, which limited the practical understanding of the industry for students in the related department (Department of Marine Production System Management). However, with this agreement, students can now experience the fishing equipment and operation methods of oceanic longline fishing boats on the training ship Hanmirho, which is the only one in the country capable of oceanic longline training. This has made practical understanding and education more seamless. The practical training and internship process for longline fishing operations is managed by the Department of Marine Production System at Pukyong National University.
