Ukraine has seen its best pea harvest in three years, with an increase in sown area leading to a crop of 465,000 tons across 212,000 hectares, a 40% rise from 2023. Despite the increased production, the yield of 2.19 tons per hectare was lower than the long-term average and the previous season. The Odesa and Mykolaiv regions were the main contributors to the harvest. High prices this season, due in part to India's 50% pea tariff waiver, and the opening of new processing facilities in Ukraine may encourage farmers to further increase the area under peas in 2025.
