The Russian agricultural region, Kuban, has started a mushroom production in the Krasnodar Territory, which is set to become the largest mushroom farm in Russia. The farm will produce oyster mushrooms, honey mushrooms, and shiitake, with an annual capacity of over 1,000 products. The project has employed 600 people and required an investment of over 1 billion rubles. The first harvest from the new site includes ordinary and lemon oyster mushrooms, and the production is expected to meet the region's demand for honey mushrooms and shiitake, and 70% of the demand for oyster mushrooms. Since 2017, mushroom cultivation in the Kuban has doubled, surpassing 20 thousand tons.
