The pig industry is discussing a plan to increase the upper limit of pig carcass weight by 3 kg as part of price stabilization measures. The pig carcass weight was reduced by 3 kg in 2013 to prevent a sharp drop in pig prices, but recent international instability has led to an unstable supply of domestic pork, prompting calls for a readjustment of the carcass weight to stabilize it. The Korean Pig Association held the 'First Distribution Committee of 2026' on the 21st. At the meeting, discussions were held on a proposal to increase the upper limit of pig carcass weight at the time of delivery.
