The Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Yogurt and Fresh Dairy Desserts (AEFY) is advocating for a reduction in the VAT rate on natural yogurts and natural fermented milk from 10% to 4%. The association argues that these foods are essential and should be promoted through a fiscal policy that encourages the consumption of healthy foods. They believe that reducing the VAT on these dairy products would make them more accessible to those with lower incomes and contribute to healthy eating habits, particularly in children. AEFY has presented this proposal to the Committee of Experts for Tax Reform.
