The Mauritanian fishmeal production boom cools down

The Ministry of Fisheries, Maritime Affairs, and Port Infrastructure once issued a statement saying that the continued production of fish meal could lead to the depletion of marine resources. The government, by taking measures such as strengthening fishing regulations and prohibiting the production of fish meal from high-value fish, will gradually shift fish meal production towards the processing of fish for human consumption, balancing industrial development with resource protection, and ensuring the sustainable development of the fishing industry.
