The Russian government has announced subsidies for sugar and sunflower oil producers who have agreed to freeze prices with retail chains, to help compensate for lost profits due to the price freeze. The subsidy for sunflower oil is 10 rubles per liter, and for sugar, it is 5 rubles per kilo, both capped at a certain retail price. The subsidy will be available until the end of September. The Ministry of Agriculture is also planning to increase the export of aquatic biological resources to $7 billion by 2024, up from $5.3 billion in 2020. The first exchange trading in aquatic biological resources has also taken place in St. Petersburg.
