Kazakhstan has stocked basic food products, particularly sugar, for the next three months to meet the population's demand. The country has the opportunity to import 250,000 tons of sugar from other countries by the end of August 2022 without customs duties to maintain stable prices. In 2021, Kazakhstan's sugar production increased by 89% from the previous year, but 60% of its consumption was imported. The main suppliers of imported sugar were the Russian Federation, Brazil, Belarus, and Mexico.
