In the October inflation report, the National Bank of Ukraine revised its yield estimates for 2025. The forecast for grains and legumes has been increased to 61.5 million tons (previously 57.9 million tons), while expectations for oilseeds have been reduced to 19.3 million tons (in July 21 million tons), reports "ProAgro Group". According to the NBU, in 2026–2027, the yield of grains and legumes will continue to grow. The reasons are the increase in the productivity of the agricultural sector and the expansion of corn and other crops in regions less vulnerable to climate change. In contrast, the yield of oilseeds, concentrated mainly in the south of the country, will remain lower. This is influenced by both climate change and the long-term consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, which disrupted the operation of irrigation systems.
