The new wheat tender in Tunisia has shown that importers are willing to pay a high price amid rising costs of Black Sea wheat.

The Tunisian State Procurement Agency (ODC) on July 23 acquired 100,000 tons of soft wheat of any origin through a tender with delivery from August 10 to September 25, 2025, at an average price of $262.86/ton C&F, which is $10.6/ton higher than the purchase price of the previous tender from July 9 (also with August delivery). Specifically, the following was acquired: 2 lots of 25,000 tons from the company Bunge at prices of $261.49 and $262.98/ton C&F, 2 lots of 25,000 tons from the company Cargill at a price of $263.42/ton C&F. The purchase prices were lower than the offer prices, which reached $269–278.77/ton C&F, considering the price level for Black Sea wheat within $245–250/ton FOB. It is worth recalling that at the tender on June 13, the Tunisian Grain Agency acquired 100,000 tons of European wheat at an average price of $245.51/ton C&F with delivery in July 2025.
