Brazil continues to increase its dominance as the top global producer and exporter of soybeans and corn, with exports of both crops seeing significant growth. In September 2023, soybean exports reached 6.4 million tons, a 60% increase from the previous year, while corn exports increased by 36.45% to reach 8.76 million tons. The ports in the Northern Arc region have emerged as a key departure point for these exports, surpassing traditional ports like Santos, with 43.3% of cereal exports and 35.3% of soybean exports being shipped through this region.
