Russia: The number of young scallops and sea cucumbers released into the sea for farming has approached nine million in Primorye

The Primorsky Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fishery has summed up the interim results of the release of juvenile aquaculture species into marine waters by fish farms in the region in 2024 during pasture aquaculture. To date, 7.915 million juvenile Primorsky scallops and 0.931 million juvenile Far Eastern trepang have been released into the marine environment by fish farms. In 3-4 years, the juveniles will reach a marketable size and can be removed from the seabed for delivery to the food market. In Primorsky Krai, as part of pasture aquaculture, scallops are mainly grown in the Voevoda Bay (Russky Island), Severnaya, Tabunnaya, Boisman, Amursky, Slavyansky and Ussuri Bays.
