The Spanish olive oil value chain will share information as a mechanism to control product quality, in an attempt to put an end to the controversy over fraud accusations that shook the sector a year ago. The secretary of the interprofessional organization for Spanish olive oil, Rafael Sánchez de Puerta, highlighted this Thursday in a meeting with journalists the agreement reached last month in that organization to launch a quality excellence program for olive oil, at the proposal of the trade associations Anierac and Asoliva. Sánchez de Puerta, also the general director of the cooperative group Dcoop, specified that the agreement includes "working with the administrations to ensure that all information is used as a control mechanism."
