Spain: The oilseed industry highlights soybean oil as a healthy alternative

The National Association of Companies for the Development of Oilseeds and their Extraction (Afoex) and the United States Soybean Export Council (Ussec) have presented soybean oil as a "sustainable and healthy alternative" within oils existing vegetables on the market. This fat has been the protagonist of the webinar that both associations have organized with the aim of publicizing the different options on the market to be able to replace other vegetable fats such as sunflower oil, which in a 62 % came to Spain from Ukraine, a country that is now suffering from a war. In this sense, the emphasis has been placed on the benefits of soybean oil manufactured in Spain and the national production of this fat has been analysed, which amounts to 615,000 tons per year, as well as imports, exports and consumption.
