Spain: The PDO Torta del Casar invoices almost 8 million euros

The Regulatory Council of the Torta del Casar Protected Designation of Origin has certified 322,928 kilograms of cheese last year, which represents an increase of more than 10% compared to the 2020 certification, and a turnover of 7.9 million euros . During this campaign, the total production of milk has grown compared to 2020, going from 1.6 million to 1.9 million liters, as well as the volume of that which has been transformed in the dairies, increasing from 61.1% to 67 ,one%. The certification index in 2021 has also been somewhat higher, reaching 88.2% of the cheese made under the PDO quality standard.
