The potato harvest in the Netherlands this year has reached its highest level in the last 25 years – 4.4 million tons, according to preliminary data from the Dutch Statistics Bureau. Compared to 2024, there has been a 37% increase. The cultivated areas have been expanded by almost 9% to over 83 thousand hectares, which is also the highest figure since 2000, and the average potato yields are estimated at 53.5 tons per hectare – nearly 25% more than last year.
