The Interprofessional de la Potato in France has reported on the current state of potato stocks in various European Union countries, including the Czech Republic, where stocks of satisfactory quality are nearly depleted, leading to an anticipated increase in imports in March. The price for Czech washed potatoes is around € 0.22 - € 0.23 / kg. Other countries like Romania, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Great Britain are experiencing challenges with potato stocks, including closures, conservation issues, and variable qualities, which have impacted demand and availability. The UK has seen a decrease in potato stocks from the previous year, with 2.3% less at the end of January 2021, primarily due to increased consumption and the closure of restaurants and processing facilities.
