The Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey, Şemsi Bayraktar, highlighted the significant price disparities between producers and the market in June, with some products seeing up to a 4.4 times markup. He noted that 14 products had seen price increases in the market, with watermelon having the most significant price drop, while red lentils experienced the highest price increase. Bayraktar also expressed concern over the impact of drought and increased input costs, such as fertilizer and feed, on farmers, warning of potential unemployment in the livestock sector and emphasizing that Turkey has the cheapest raw milk price out of several countries.
