REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON – The price of red chili peppers in the traditional market of Cirebon City, West Java, has skyrocketed. This condition is not only lamented by traders but also consumers. At the Cirebon City Morning Market, red chili peppers are now sold for Rp90 thousand to Rp100 thousand per kilogram. This price has jumped sharply compared to the normal price which only ranged from Rp40 thousand per kilogram. Besides red chili peppers, price increases have also occurred in other types of chili peppers and red onions. Green chili peppers, for example, are now sold for Rp60 thousand per kilogram, from the previous range of Rp30 thousand to Rp35 thousand per kilogram. Price increases have also occurred in red chili peppers which are now priced at Rp50 thousand per kilogram. This price has risen by Rp10 thousand compared to the previous price of Rp40 thousand per kilogram.
