A pork vendor in Singapore has increased the price of pork by 2 yuan per kilogram due to a shortage in supply, with pork ribs now costing 30 yuan per kilogram. Local slaughterhouses have resumed operations and are selling fresh pork from Sarawak, Malaysia. The supply shortage is caused by the suspension of pork imports from Bulan Island, Indonesia due to African swine fever. However, if the farm can eradicate the virus within six months, production and exports can resume. Pork suppliers are adjusting prices accordingly, with Australian pork suppliers raising prices by about 80 cents to 1 yuan per kilogram.
