The price of Iberian ham reaches historic levels in Salamanca and Extremadura, Spain

The Salamanca and Extremadura markets have set this week the first Iberian prices for the 2023-2024 campaign with figures much higher than the previous one, which represent historic levels. On November 30 and, as is traditional, in Ciudad Rodrigo - coinciding with the celebration of the San Andrés fair - the first prices were set at the Salamanca Agricultural Market. The 100% Iberian (which already reached a historic price last year) closed with a range of between 3.47-3.67 euros per kilo and an increase of 6.57% in the annual comparison. The rest of the categories also exceeded the historical prices established until now in Salamanca. On the other hand, the Extremadura Agricultural Market held its first Iberian price table on November 28 with acorn prices 100% higher by 5.2% compared to the first price of the previous year.
