In October, South Korea experienced a significant surge in the prices of processed foods, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for processed foods increasing by 3.1% to 109.89, marking the largest annual increase since November 2014. The price of instant noodles alone rose by 11%, the highest increase in over a decade, due to an upward trend in flour prices. Additionally, the prices of noodles, biscuits, pasta, bread, puffed food, salt, traditional rice wine, salad dressing, and edible oil also saw substantial hikes, ranging from 6% to 23.9%.
