The production of seeds of legumes will be developed in Kazakhstan

New seed farms are going to be opened in the Zhetysu region. It is planned to increase the production of potato seeds in the region and reach a new level in the production of seeds of legumes, the APK Novosti agency reports. This year, agrarians of the Zhetysu region have increased the sowing areas of priority crops. In particular, sugar beet crops doubled, corn for grain - by 15%, vegetables and potatoes - by 2%. Before the sowing campaign, the region was completely provided with seeds, but the share of domestic seeds was only 13%. “Before the sowing campaign, the region was provided with the volume of seeds of agricultural crops necessary for sowing, which is 56 thousand tons, of which 1.8 thousand tons are elite, 54.4 thousand tons of seeds of high reproduction.
