The production volume of sunflower oil this year has decreased by almost 16%, to 6.9 million tons from a record 8.2 million tons in 2024, according to analysts from the agency OleoScope. The result was also below the 2023 figure when 7.2 million tons were produced. At the same time, the production of soybean oil increased from 1 million tons in 2023 to 1.18 million tons this year. The output of rapeseed oil, after last year's decrease from 1.5 million tons to 1.29 million tons, rose by almost 20% to 1.55 million tons. Russia's overall self-sufficiency in vegetable oils exceeds 250%, OleoScope notes. Domestic consumption of sunflower oil has almost not grown and has remained at the level of 2.4-2.5 million tons per year for three years, with the main volume—more than 65%—being supplied abroad.
