Spain: The project of visual censuses of vulnerable fish makes 19 reports of seven marine reserves in the Balearic Islands

These are, in particular, three from the Llevant Marine Reserve, three from Dragonera, three from the Freus de Ibiza and Formentera, three from Toro-Malgrats, two from the north of Menorca, three from the bay of Palma and two of the Migjorn de Mallorca. As reported by the Ministry of Agriculture, the result of these reports is to have the largest historical series of data on the reserve effect on commercial fish populations in the Western Mediterranean and document their recovery wherever fishing effort reduction measures are effective. . This initiative has been financed by the Operational Program for Spain of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (FEMP) for the years 2016 to 2020. The total cost has been 577,405.36 euros.
