The rate of sugar beet processing in Ukraine is much higher than last year

As of October 28, 7.7 million tons of sugar beets with a yield of 47.1 tons / ha were harvested from 73% of the area or 164.6 thousand hectares in Ukraine. The sugar content is 16.4%, which is 0.3% lower than last year's 16.7%. This was reported by graintrade, writes agronews.ua. Experts of the "Scientific and Practical Center for Sugar Beet" report on the positive dynamics of increasing sugar content in root crops. Compared with the previous analysis, the sugar gap decreased from 0.7% to 0.3%. The rate of sugar beet processing is also better than last year. As of November 3, 29 sugar factories started operating, producing 757 thousand tons of sugar (three times more than last year's figure of 280 thousand tons) and processing 5.54 million tons of sugar beets. Presumably, in 2021, companies plan to process the maximum amount of sugar beets during the warm period of the year to reduce the cost of gas and other fuels.
