The Regional Government of Lambayeque Rejects Direct Award of the Olmos Project

The regional governor of Lambayeque, Jorge Pérez Flores, met with the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Raúl Pérez Reyes, and of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Angel Manero Campos, to request that the continuity of operation and maintenance of the Olmos Project be carried out through an international tender, given that the current concession expires on September 25, 2025. However, the Executive Branch expressed its intention to award the project through direct allocation. During the dialogue, it was highlighted that there is an inter-institutional working table—comprised of the MEF, Midagri, Comptroller's Office, ProInversión, and the Regional Government of Lambayeque—that has been jointly evaluating a possible addendum to the current contract.
