The RDA has been developing and disseminating models of inland greenhouses suitable for mechanized production of onion plug seedlings to establish technology for producing onion plug seedlings. Additionally, to support farmers who feel burdened by facility construction, the RDA has been conducting field verification of open-field seedling cultivation technology. This evaluation meeting focused on solving problems that may occur when producing onion plug seedlings in open fields, such as seed loss due to soil-borne diseases, strong winds, heavy rain, and moisture damage. The RDA plans to continue with machine-ready seedling cultivation.
