The Volgograd region in Russia has seen a significant increase in agricultural exports, with a 200% rise in the first five months of the year compared to the same period last year. The exports, valued at $112 million, include grain crops, fat and oil products, and powdered milk whey, with the majority being exported to Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Eastern European countries. The region is also benefiting from government support measures such as preferential lending and compensation for certification costs. Since 2014, the region has been focusing on stimulating the development of the agro-industrial complex, implementing 780 agricultural projects worth 28.8 billion rubles, and currently working on 312 investment projects worth 46 billion rubles.
