The Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters' Association reported a notable increase in table olive exports for the 2020-2021 season, with a 32% rise in quantity and a 17% increase in foreign currency compared to the previous season, totaling $150 million from 88,430 tons. The first half of the 2021-2022 season saw a further 32% increase, with Germany, Romania, and Iraq being the leading importers of black olives, and Iraq showing the most interest in green olives. The association aims to reach an export target of 100,000 tons and earn $175 million in foreign currency for the entire season, but calls for increased state support due to rising input costs.
