The ton of Paraguayan beef depreciated 7.6% in 2023

The average price of a ton of beef in Paraguay was $4,770 during 2023, which represented a decrease of 7.6% compared to 2022, a year that recorded historic values for meat in the first half. According to data presented by the National Animal Quality and Health Service (Senacsa), a ton of meat lost 390 dollars per ton in the year. The 4,770 dollars per ton are lower than the US$ 5,160 in 2022 and the US$ 4,890 in 2021, but are above 2019 (US$ 4,140) and 2020 (US$ 4,110). The loss in value of the ton was not only recorded in Paraguay, but also in the rest of the main exporting livestock farms.
