The trade in agricultural goods between Ukraine and the European Union saw a decrease of 5.1% in the first half of 2020, amounting to $4.6 billion. The United States was the largest export market, with imports and exports totaling $3.0 billion and $1.6 billion respectively, leading to a positive balance of $1.4 billion. The six leading EU trading partners for Ukraine, accounting for 75% of the trade turnover, include the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France. Ukraine's exports to the EU were primarily grain, oilseeds, oils and fats, and food waste, while imports were diverse with tobacco products, animal feed, alcoholic beverages, and various food products. Domestic exporters in Ukraine have utilized the annual quotas for several products, but it is expected that significant changes in trade volumes may occur in the latter half of the year due to new harvest seasons.
