The Farmers' Union has requested the Ministry of Agriculture to "actively defend" the interests of the citrus industry in the Valencian Community in the revision of the list of priority pests and diseases that must be carried out by the European Commission, ensuring the inclusion of those that pose a real risk to crops and guaranteeing the continuity of the prevention and control measures necessary for their eradication or containment. In this regard, it has conveyed to the Minister of Agriculture, Luis Planas, its concerns and also its proposals regarding the upcoming update of the list of priority pests and diseases of the European Union, within the framework of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/1702 which completes Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 on phytosanitary measures.
