Vietnam's agricultural exports have hit record levels in the first half of 2021, with the US and China as the primary markets, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is actively opening markets and utilizing FTAs to boost exports. The total export value of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products reached $24.23 billion, a 28.2% increase from the previous year. The Ministry is also focusing on domestic market consumption and has initiated a program to connect agricultural products with large output to supermarket systems. The program has seen significant sales of local agricultural products after just one week of operation.
