Vietnam's cashew exports experienced a decline in August 2021 compared to July 2021 and August 2020, with a total of 20,400 tons exported earning USD 137.44 million. From the beginning of the year to mid-August 2021, Vietnam's cashew nut exports saw a growth of 21.5% in volume and 15.6% in value, despite the impact of Covid-19. The US is the largest market for these exports, followed by China. The demand for cashew nuts in Europe and the US is expected to rise, and the industry is expected to grow further. Additionally, Switzerland's cashew imports have seen a consistent increase, with Vietnam's share of the Swiss market rising from 38.58% to 53.16% between the first half of 2020 and 2021.
