Vietnam has seen a significant increase in the export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in the first eight months of 2021, with a 21.6% rise year-on-year, reaching 32.1 billion USD. This includes a 13.6% increase in the export of main agricultural products, a 42.7% increase in main forest products, and a 7.1% increase in seafood. The US remains the largest export market for these products. However, exports experienced a significant decrease in August due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is taking steps to monitor prices, production, and supply of agricultural products and is encouraging the electronic transaction of agricultural products in the harvest season. It is also coordinating with other countries for agricultural product markets and supporting localities and enterprises to export agricultural products that meet export standards to EU, UK, China, and other markets.
