The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has revised its forecast for world cereal production in 2023/24, increasing it by 3.3 million tons to 2,281.2 million tons. Coarse grain production is expected to be 1,499.3 million tons, with increases in the United States and Russia, but a slight decrease in the European Union. Wheat production, however, is expected to drop to 781.9 million tons, with decreases in India but an increase in Russia. Consumption of coarse grains is expected to increase, while wheat consumption remains unchanged, and final stocks of coarse grains and wheat are also predicted to rise.
