The Valencian Regional Government has assumed the representation and coordination of the autonomous communities in the EU Agriculture Council during the first semester of 2026 and will liaise with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina, has assured that it is a decisive moment for the policies that affect the sector, so they will strengthen the presence in Brussels in order to participate more actively in the debates, anticipate decisions that may influence the field and more effectively defend the interests of farmers and livestock farmers. He added that this stage "represents an opportunity to strengthen the voice of the autonomous communities and to highlight the importance of constant and coordinated dialogue" and announced: "From the Valencian Community we will work to ensure that the common positions are well articulated and can be conveyed to Europe with clarity and reliability". ...
