REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that downstream processing is the key to increasing the economic value of the national coconut industry. According to him, from the current export value of Rp24 trillion, the economic potential of coconuts could soar to Rp2,400 trillion if the downstream industry operates optimally within the country. Amran conveyed this following the finalization meeting of agricultural downstream processing at the Ministry of Agriculture's Head Office in Jakarta on Friday (7/11/2025). The meeting involved the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, Danantara, and state-owned enterprises to finalize investments across the food, plantation, horticulture, and livestock subsectors with a total value of Rp371 trillion.
