Despite facing challenges such as drought and inflation in 2023, Spain's agri-food sector saw a 3.5% increase in export value, reaching 69,608 million euros, marking the highest growth among EU countries. However, the volume of sales abroad fell by 9%. The sector's trade balance registered a surplus of 14,408 million euros, emphasizing its significance in the Spanish economy. Notably, exports to Germany, Portugal, France, and Eastern countries like Poland, the Czech Republic, and Romania increased. Over a decade, pork and sweets outperformed other sectors with a 10% growth, while fruits and vegetables grew by 5%, and wines showed the least growth.
