In 2021, Spanish wine exports to the US saw a significant increase, with the value surpassing $400 million for the first time and growing by 30.6% to $412 million. The average price per liter also reached its highest since 2014 at $5.11, making it more expensive than wines from other countries such as Australia, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, Germany, and South Africa. The volume of Spanish wine purchased in the US was the second highest on record. Additionally, Spanish wine imports in Canada reached an all-time high of 39 million liters and $187 million, positioning Spain as the fourth largest seller in value to Canada. Mexico also experienced a 20.8% increase in imported Spanish wine, becoming the most purchased wine in the country, surpassing Italy and Chile in volume and value.
